Identification
Adults: 15-25 mm wingspan. Labial palps of males are short and hidden by scales. Females have long, curves downwards. The wings are grey with no markings, males are much smaller than females.
Larvae are 15–20 mm, white, and the rim of abdominal spiracles thickened on one side.
Life Cycle
At optimum conditions of 30 ℃ temperature and 75% relative humidity, the life cycle will be completed in 27 days. The eggs are laid loosely in crevices in commodities. Larvae are external feeders and produce silk webbing. Adults are short-lived, fly, and do not feed.
