Family: Acaridae

Acaridae live in various habitats and have various diets. Many of them are cosmopolitan and are able to thrive in a wide variety of natural and artificial environments. They feed on decomposing organic matter, fungi and nematodes. 

There are Acaridae species that are stored product pests, some that are pests of plants, humans, warm-blooded insects, and insects.
