Common Bed Bug
Scientific name: Cimex lectularius

Distribution
Cosmopolitan; commonly occurs in the south, with some overlap between northern NSW and southern QLD.
Size
Adults are about 5-6 mm when unfed, about the same size and shape as an apple seed. When fully fed they are almost 10 mm in size.
Identification
They are wingless, dorsoventrally flattened, and rust reddish brown in colour.
C. lectularis has a broader pronotum than C. hemipterus.
