Distribution
native to Australia; can be found all throughout, except Tasmania.
Identification
10-12 mm in size. Golden brown in colour with a black abdomen and iridescent blue abdominal bands. The body and legs are densely covered in hair.
Behaviour
Behaviour: This species live solitary but within a close range of other blue-banded bees.

buzz pollinator in flowering plants that require buzz pollination (tomato, potato, eggplant, kiwi, and blueberry).
