Habitat

Found in both dry and moist environments; found under stones and in leaf litter. 

Description

Their size varies with locality. They range from 7.5–16 cm, with some exceeding 20 cm. The colour ranges from dark blue-green-brown to orange-yellow. It has black bands along the body and yellow legs and antennae. The body has 27 or 27 segments and they have 21 or 23 pairs of legs. 

Food and Feeding

Feeds on insects, snails, and worms.

Danger and Health Risks

May bite if disturbed; bites are painful and pain may last for several hours. Some people may experience intense pain but is not fatal.
