Near inland regions of Southern Australia and coastal regions of Western Australia

Widespread, in polluted water, pools, etc.
Activity
Mostly at night
Areas where they bite people
Mostly indoors.
Remarks and Disease Associations
Commonly enters rooms. Adult females mainly feed on birds (chickens) and humans. Can be a vector of filariasis and dog heartworm.
