Tropical Bed Bug
Scientific name: Cimex hemipterus

Distribution
Common in tropical and subtropical regions; occurs mainly in the north of NSW and QLD border.
Size
Adults are about 5-6 mm when unfed, about the same size and shape as an apple seed. When fully fed they are almost 10 mm in size.
Identification
They are wingless, dorsoventrally flattened, and rust reddish brown in colour.
Very similar to its close relative C. lecturalis, but has a narrower pronotum with no visible lateral flanges.
