Identification
Adults are 0.7–1.0 mm in length, dorsoventrally flattened, wingless, the femur of hindleg enlarged. Translucent to pale brown in colour.

Life Cycle
The optimum conditions for development are 30℃ and 80% relative humidity. The females lay eggs on commodities. Adults and nymphs are long-lived.
Commodities attacked
Dried material of plant and animal origin, especially if slightly damp.
Economic Importance
Medium to high in museums, herbaria, in households, and sometimes in bulk and bagged grains.
