Identification
Adults are 6.0–7.0 mm in body length and have a wingspan of 9.0–16.0 mm. The head is reddish brown, and the forewings are mottled grey. Adult moths are rarely seen. The larvae live in a tube-like case that is made up of silk. Infestations of this pest produce a lot of webbing.

Life Cycle
Life cycle can be completed in 39 days at 25℃. The females lay eggs in crevices, and upon hatching, the larvae feed externally, leaving irregular holes into attacked material.
Adults are short-lived and do not feed on commodities.
