Family Stolotermitidae
Termopsidae is a family of dampwood termites characterized by having 4 tarsal segments, and cerci with 4-5 segments.

Distribution
The species is commonly found in southern Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and in the Australian Capital Territory.
Identification
Alates. Alates are small and variable in size. They measure 10.50–12.25 mm in length with wings, and 5.25–7.25 mm without wings. They have antennae with 15–18 segments, usually 16. They have 3 spurs on their foretibia, 3 on the mid, and 2 on the hind tibia.
Soldiers. Soldiers are variable in sizeand measure around 8.5–11.0 mm. They have very flattened heads and bodies Moreover, their heads are rounded on the sides and sometimes almost parallel. They agave antennae of 14–16 segments, usually 15. They have straight mandibles that are at least half as long as their heads. Their pronotums are half as wide as their heads. Tibial spurs : 3-3-2
Habitat and Behaviour
This species is only found in damp decaying wood lying in forest grounds or dead wood in the trunk of living trees. This species is seldom encountered. Other species of Stolotermes found in Queensland are only found in rainforests and have no economic significance.
